Background

Gary Pray Jr. is a Bronx native with almost 20 years of coaching experience and a strong history of developing players at every level. He played at Spring Valley High School and SUNY Potsdam before spending 18 years in the NYC Department of Education, mentoring students and building school basketball programs.

Gary has coached boys and girls teams across elementary, middle, and high school — including PS 66, PS 44, Bronx Studio School for Writers & Artists, East Side Community High School, and Banana Kelly High School. He brings a high-energy, fundamentals-first approach focused on toughness, confidence, and reading the game.
