What is Hoop Lab?
- 🏀 Semi-private basketball skills training for ages 4-18, open to all levels. Locations across Long Island, including our brand new flagship gym in Commack.
- 🏀 Never more than 4 players — real reps, feedback, improvement. Sign up for class based on age & level so you're always training with an appropriate peer group
- 🏀 Flexible scheduling: several class options every day, every week. You never need to commit to the same day or time, come to class when it's convenient.

Every player starts with a trial class and a skills evaluation, so we can place them at the right level and map out a growth plan.
Train on Your Schedule
20+ classes a day and three membership tiers. Book, swap, or cancel online — no fixed weekly time required.
Small Groups, Big Results
Semi-private classes capped at 4 players give every kid more reps, more feedback, and measurable improvement.

Hoop Lab GM
Nikko Callender
All-County at Baldwin High School, then Division 2 at Concordia College (NY) — reaching 75+ in every major statistical category — plus 2 pro seasons in the Dominican Republic. A decade of coaching: JV Conference Coach of the Year 4 times across Mineola and Baldwin (48–9 at Baldwin), associate head coach at NYIT and Queens College, PSAA champion head coach with Luhi's regional team in '25, and Director for the Level Up LI program.

Hoop Lab Coach
Donasja "Smilez" Scott
Coach Smilez is a professional women's basketball player and youth trainer from Hempstead, New York. A 5'11" power forward/guard, she has played seven seasons internationally across Europe and Latin America, including teams in Serbia, Romania, and Mexico, after starring collegiately at Savannah State University and Glenville State University.

Dee Lancaster
Coach Dee is a highly qualified basketball trainer with a strong foundation in youth development. Certified by the Jr. NBA and licensed through USA Basketball, Dee brings a wealth of expertise to Hoop Lab and players love his 'play under pressure' approach. When he's not coaching at Hoop Lab, you can find Dee traveling around the nation leading Jr. NBA trainings for the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, and more.
